Editor-in-Chief of Reporters and co-founder of The Ukrainians Marichka Paplauskaite spoke with Zagoriy Foundation Director Eugenia Mazurenko about media work, important features of quality reporting and the ability to give even more in return for good deeds.

Here are five interesting facts we learned from the podcast:

1) The history of The Ukrainians began with the desire of three (at that time) students to create a media about people moving the country forward. The authors gathered their scholarships to start up a project.

2) At the beginning of the project, the authors had their primary employment, and they created great stories for The Ukrainians created in their leisure time.

3) Funds for media expansion and re-launch were raised on Spilnokosht platform.

4) Today, The Ukrainians continue to tell stories about Ukrainians – stories of success, great ideas, as well as difficult stories on social issues.

5) For reporting, the team derived the LWE rule – listen, watch and empathize.

You will find useful tips on communication and successful storytelling in the Podcast of Great Stories.
