On July 15, the DonorUA platform, with the financial support of the Global Blood Fund charitable organization, launched a project to provide food for blood center employees.
110 doctors in Dnipro received hot lunches prepared by Lunch Time Dnipro chefs. Lunches will arrive every Friday til the end of September.
The menu includes salad, hot meat or fish with a side dish, as well as sweets. Every week there are different dishes, for example, roast pork, salad with tomatoes and corn, and bagels with berries for dessert.
“Now we are working in emergency mode, and sometimes there is not enough time for a full lunch. Besides, we don’t have a dining room, so we must bring something from home and have some quick snacks.
Hot food is a timely and pleasant project, which allowed us, in addition to having a full tasty meal, to relax a little after a busy week and chat with colleagues,” says the director of the Dnipro Blood Center, Antonina Serdiuk.
“Working in blood centers close to hostilities is heroism. With this project, we express our gratitude to those who help donors and patients every day. The time that the blood centre specialists spend preparing dinner, they can spend with their families, have a rest or, while at work, save someone’s life,” emphasizes CEO and founder of DonorUA Iryna Slavinska.
The project is planned to be launched in other cities of Ukraine, where blood centers work under enormous pressure due to the war.
